Everyone’s seen death in their dreams, but we still wake up from our sleep.

“What are you doing here”

“I should be asking you the same question” Philip said “ You’ve been missing for about a month”.

“I’m sorry I didn’t let you know earlier, but I had to leave France” Diego said to Philip before proceeding to explain to him why he came to Sao Paulo.

“But you know you’ll have to give a public apology to the company once we clear up this mess” Philip said.

“Already working on it” Diego said before laughing “Now you know why I’m here, What about you, What brings you to Casa Dorada.

“He said he had both of you and mom too and that I had to do something for him in exchange” Philip answered.

“Who’s he?”

“Adrian Scape”

“The guy from college?”

“Yes, that one, he also claims he’s dad’s first son”

“You’re joking right? ”

“No, He even came with a DNA sample”

“So, Dad had an affair?”

“That’s the most rational explanation right now, cause mom would never lie to us but we both know dad had a lot of secrets”.

Then it suddenly hit Diego

“What if there was no shipwreck?” Diego said “What if dad got involved in bad business and it was all planned?”.

“What do you mean?”

“We were all meant to board the Mississippi for the vacation on the day dad died” Diego answered “But he said we had to stay back to take care of business, It’s a bit strange, don’t you think?”

“So let’s say we were all meant to be killed but he found out and took the fall?”

“Maybe….. Maybe not, But now they’ve kidnapped mum and they’re luring us one by one”

“Divide and conquer” Philip said.

“I had always thought they wanted the company, But it was never that, They want us dead”.

Diego and Philip looked at each other and nodded cause they knew they were both thinking the same thing.

The Sao Paulo Cathedral

“Well I gotta go now, the earlier we begin, the easier it’ll be for us” Philip said “Before I forget, who’s the Spanish model?”

“Oh, That’s Isabella, the daughter of Carlo Moraes” Diego said.

“I see, Dining with the devil, halfway across the world you still remain the same” Philip said whilst giving him a playful slap on the cheek.

“Anyways we’ll meet there” Philip said while walking towards the exit of the restaurant”

“I won’t miss it….Our lives depend on it” Diego answered

“Took you long enough” Isabella said when Diego came back to his seat.

“Sorry, I had to catch up, he’s a friend I haven’t seen in awhile”

He noticed the two martinis and took one and started sipping…

“At the car, you said your dad was out, You have any idea where?”

“The Sao Paulo Cathedral” Isabella said.

And then Diego smiled to himself, He was smarter than all of them, They thought they had him but they didn’t know he was the only puzzle they couldn’t solve.
